-Thailand Tsunami

The Tsunami 2004 hit the west coast of Thailand facing the Andaman Sea which is a part of the Indian Ocean. All Thai beaches at that area without some islands in front were hit by this natural disaster. Causes of Tsunami are always earthquakes, here it was one off Indonesia and there was no Tsunami warning beside of the fact that the relevant authorities have known about the seaquake and the likelihood of a Tsunami, as a person from the Thailand geological authority has said, "we didn't issue any warning because what do you think what will happen with us when we issue a Tsunami warning and after there is maybe no Tsunami coming". This were some statements, among other, this people made to Bangkok Post reporters.

Tsunami Patong Beach was probably the worst part of the Phuket Tsunami. But a much bigger disaster was done about 100km north of Phuket, there the Khao Lak Tsunami hit and flattened the beach resorts killing more than 3000 people.
